IXL will be the platform we use to determine what level your child reads and writes.  It will also be used as a means to diagnose areas of strengths and weaknesses. Although the DIAGNOSTIC will be assigned by your child’s reading teacher, either Mrs. Owens or Mrs. Northern, the following four areas will be assessed:  Reading Strategies, Vocabulary for READING ,Writing Strategies, and Grammar and Mechanics for WRITING.  At times, students will use IXL in class or at home to work on individualized maintenance lessons and/or lessons assigned on a particular objective in class. I will work closely with your child’s reading teacher to ensure their writing needs are met. IXL can be accessed through CLASS LINK.
